Had a Super Fun Weekend at Colorfest 2015. The splendid weather intensified the perfect mix for taste, sound and sight. Friday night kicked off the weekend with a “Passport to Pagosa Wine and Food Festival” — a sold out crowd (300+) with a large number of out of town visitors enjoyed a night of fantastic flavors… dozens of wines to choose from, and tasty food from a variety of our local Pagosa restaurants…
The ever popular Bob Hemenger polished the soiree with his sweet sax sounds. There’s already talk to get a bigger tent and add the number of tickets available for next year.
Saturday morning, Hot Springs Boulevard turns into a rush hour of spectators witnessing a spectacular early morning mass balloon ascension. Skies were clear, blue and the balloon colors combined — as vivid as it gets.
I usually photograph this event from a distance, away from the crowds, but up close and personal, I saw so many young children. Imagine how amazing the experience is, if you have never seen this before. So many cameras, almost everyone has one. Really, a thrilling experience at any age… and the thrill never gets old, no matter how many times you experience it.
The afternoon was packed with entertainment in the tent at Town Park, for the Bands & Brews fest where three bands thumped the tent for over four hours: San Juan Mountain Boys, SoulShine and The High Rollers.
And then there was BEER. Actually 10 micro-brews and one vodka. A solid contingent of local Pagosa brewers… but Durango, Salida, Bayfield, Poncha Springs and Taos were also represented. Everyone received a commemorative glass and drank till the dance floor was full.
Huge Smiles were attached to the entire weekend. This was the 30th Annual Pagosa Springs Colorfest… definitely a one of the best on record and one to greatly commemorate the long tenure. Kudos to Amanda, Angela, Cheryl and Clint from The Pagosa Chamber who orchestrated the event.
