I am looking ADORINGLY at you with my piercing gaze, my one eye blue, and my other eye brown. If that doesn’t capture your heart and attention I don’t know what will!

Hi, my name is “Hiccup”, and unlike those annoying little noises that I was named after, I don’t make much noise at all. I am NOT a barker. I am a healthy and young female Border Collie canine who would like a second; no make that third, chance at a great life with a great human family.

You know us Border Collies, smart as anything and always looking for some ACTION. Well that describes me to a ‘T’. My favorite plaything is a rubber ball to fetch, and I will tirelessly chase after it and bring it back to you until I drop from the heat.

My first home was with a family who didn’t want me, so I was dumped onto the streets of Clovis, NM. My second home was with a nice loving lady, but unfortunately she adopted me and 99 other dogs! So that was a too crowded and noisy home for sure. Finally, I came here to find my forever home in the mountains of Pagosa Springs Colorado. Today this lady even made a great video of me on YouTube, so please have a look.

As you can see I LOVE to run, and I love to interact with humans. In fact, do you know that Border Collies are also great guard and agility dogs? Sure am! The family that I’m looking for would be any loving family really. I get along with most other dogs, love people and kids, and generally love life. I will need a home where my people will throw a ball for me, or take me on hikes, or have a huge backyard to run in. I sure don’t need another home where I am caged or kenneled all the time. Just shoot me first!

So if you are looking to adopt a young canine, and love my stamina, intelligence, and personality, then I am YOUR DOG. Please come and pick me up at the Humane Society of Pagosa Springs. Their shelter, and my temporary home, is located on Cloman Blvd., just off Piedra Road.

You can call them too, 970-731-4771 and tell them “I would like to visit Hiccup from the Daily Post article”.
