Hot Rods, new and old converge into Town Park for the 11th Annual Car Show at Pagosa on June 14 and 15…
Sponsored by the Pagosa Springs Chamber of Commerce, now a real solid destination for Show Vehicles from all over the Four Corners region.
Although this year the number of entries was lower than last year, the quality was impressive. The crowd was not disappointed by the incredible machines. The creativity and mechanical genius of the original engineers always intrigues me. To restore one of these magic movers is a marvel that is truly amazing.
The highly anticipated event has always had a beautiful day to enjoy it, too. Party in the Park Friday evening meet and greet allows spectators, sponsors, owners and all the skilled specialists to make new like minded friends. Brooks I Band entertained with their high energy music and food vendors put out some fine grub and libations for all to enjoy.
Early Saturday the car owners get back to Town Park for the competition. Buffing and polishing every nook and cranny of their machines. Meticulously preparing for the crowds to admire all their hard work. Plenty of pictures to be had.
The Vintage Rock and Roll by Retro Cats is a natural to the atmosphere they were just great. Champions receive trophies and the top honors get $100 bill. Not a huge haul but highly coveted bragging rights, nonetheless. Spectators filled the field all day long and then the Car Show participants did a tour through town to Pine Ridge Extended Care Center to give the elders a little joy and maybe jog a memory or two, of days gone by.
